To be a potter and to create your own poetic environment and independence is a luxury, beginning with the clay between your hands. Throwing pots, pushing the form from within with idea of ‘containing’ is to capture a space. To catch the movement, the perception, the vitality of the clay, is a beautiful gift for free expression. I find expression in a family of forms, one pot asking for another to be made; taut, but perceptive to chance…. And when I’ve just had enough of one form, I make something else.
